M1940 Identification Tags
Stock No. 74-T-60
Tag, Identification, M1940
Our steel M1940 Dog Tags come two (2) per order are personalized with your information with an original Addressograph Model 6341. If you need help in configuring your Identification Tags, we recommend the site link http://home.att.net/~steinert/us_army_ww2_dog_tags.htm
Please Note: Or tags are capable of
five lines of 18 characters (including spaces) total, except line
3 which holds 17 characters.
Your tag text may look "wrong" when displayed on your
checkout receipt as it saves space by smashing everything over to
the left. However, it is important that you place characters in
the entry fields below exactly where you want them as our text entry
program records all of your finalized key-strokes (including spaces).
In short: if you want your "C" to be in space 18 all alone
on line 5, then hit the spacebar 17 times. Also, your tag will be
stamped as we receive it with any and all spelling, spacing, or
numerical errors that you type in.
Our machine, built in 1942, does not have a + key as the US Military
did not include Rh factors in blood types durring this time period.
Some customers have substituted a P for the + if indeed you want
to denote this on your tags.
